Welcome to the Murders and Mysteries Tour, where we step back in time to the lawless days of the Old West. In the heart of this historic town, every corner, alley, hotel and saloon holds a story, some thrilling, some chilling, but all steeped in the legends of the Wild West.
This is no ordinary history tour, it's a journey into the darker side of frontier life, where the line between justice and vengeance was often blurred, and the echoes of the past still linger in the night.
The sorrowful stories of those who succumbed to their loneliness and pressure of frontier life and chose to end their lives in a desperate bid for relief.
Infamous brawls or dares and pranks
the cowboys would pull.
Are you ready to hear the stories of this Old West Town? The stories of the spirits that still linger here?
The Tour starts at 7pm and is a walking tour that lasts approximately 2 hours.
We meet in the lobby of the Hassayampa Inn located at 122 E. Gurley Street.
Our tour will guide you through the very alleyways and saloons where the people of this town once roamed, and where dramatic tales of deaths, crime and intrigue unfolded. Murders in the Old West were often the results of gunfights, which could break out over anything from poker games to disputes over cattle.
Besides homicides, deaths were frequently due to accidents, suicides and harsh living conditions of the time. Diseases like tuberculosis, cholera and pneumonia took a heavy toll.
Gunfights to tragic accidents, these events offer a window into a time when survival often hinged on the toughest constitution.
Amid the rough-and-tumble boomtowns that sprang up were the "Ladies of the Night," women who lived on the fringes of society and provided companionship and other services in an era of profound gender inequality and social upheaval.
An historic street in Prescott known for its rich history and vibrant atmosphere. It gained its name due to the abundance of saloons, bars, and gambling establishments that lined the street. Home to the oldest saloon in Arizona, the Palace Saloon.
The early days of Prescott were marked by rapid growth, a diverse population and a spirit of resilience that defined the American frontier. From a territorial capital with its storied past, to today with its historic buildings, vibrant art scenes and varied outdoor activities, makes Prescott a must-see location.
